FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a “green” program that can benefit my yard?
We do have a “natural” treatment program available that uses certified natural products for your trees and shrubs. Learn more about our natural solutions programs for lawns, trees, shrubs, gardens, flowers and fertilizers.
Can I be contacted before each application?
Yes, we would be happy to notify you prior to an application.
How many applications do you need to make before I see results?
That depends on the targeted pest. With some insect pests, results will be visible after one application. Most diseases and many insect pests require two to four applications before results are noticeable.
Do you have payment options?
We have several options for making payments to your account. These include paying online, calling in your credit card payment, or mailing in a check or card number. If you are not comfortable paying your statement in full we can negotiate a payment plan to suit your needs.
Will rain prevent the application from being effective?
Insect and disease control sprays and broadleaf weed control treatments in turf are rain-fast after fifteen to thirty minutes. Rain does not affect applications for crane fly control, annual bluegrass control, pre-emergent weed control or systemic treatments.
It’s been a couple days since my applications and I still have weeds in my yard.
Broadleaf weeds in turf can take up to one month to die completely. Grass and broadleaf weeds treated with a contact post-emergent herbicide will take up to two weeks to die during the summer and longer during the colder seasons of the year.
What are the brown spots in my lawn?
During the summer, probably around 95% of the brown spots in lawns are caused by lack of water. Another common problem is having your mower set to low and cutting the stems of the grass, which cause yellowing and browning. Under certain conditions, certain diseases can cause discolored spots in lawns. Animal damage can also be a problem. Learn more about revitalizing your lawn in our Lawn care section
Why is my lawn three different shades of green?
The Willamette valley is home to many wild grasses and our yards often play host to many different grass varieties. Each of these grasses may have a different blade shape and color, growth pattern, or growing season, thus resulting in the color differentiation in your lawn. One of our technicians would be happy to meet with you in order to design a lawn program to improve the health, vigor, and uniformity of your lawn.
How long should I wait after fertilization to mow my lawn?
Generally speaking, we recommend you wait until after at least one watering cycle or a heavy rain before you mow your lawn. We want to avoid having the mower pick up the fertilizer, or relocate the fertilizer to a high concentration that can harm the lawn.
Will this hurt my pet(s)?
Most of our materials should not hurt your pets even if there is exposure. We always recommend letting the material dry before allowing pets back into the treated area. We would be happy to alert you prior to arriving so your pets can be kept inside while we’re making treatment applications.
I don’t know if I can afford your services.
Our services can be surprisingly affordable since we use a fully customized approach to each yard. We would be happy to design a program that suites your needs and budget.
Are estimates free?
Yes, we are more than willing to come out and look at your yard and give a complete evaluation free of charge.
How long do I need to stay out of my yard after an application?
It depends on the application but as a rule of thumb, we like to make sure that the product has dried or been thoroughly absorbed into the soil. If special considerations need to be made we will be sure to address them on the phone or on your invoice.
Why is my tree dropping leaves?
Trees will shed their leaves for many different reasons. Possible causes include drought, disease, fertility, or other stresses. It’s always best to have a professional come and diagnose the issues onsite in your yard.
I have moss growing on my roof, can you help?
Yes! In the Willamette valley roof moss is a maintenance issue. Roof moss applications generally need to be made every one or two years depending on the type of roof you have. Roof moss can become very destructive to a home if it is left untreated. If you are seeing moss on your roof, be sure to give us a call so we can begin treating your roof before it’s too late.
